SEAGULLS

SHORT DOCUMENTARY, 2019

ROLE | DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / DOP

SYNOPSIS

When it comes to recycled paint, it’s what’s inside the tin that counts. At Seagulls Paint, in the heart of Leeds, that counts for people too.

SEAGULLS reveals a day in the life of Ruksar, a colour blind paint mixer with a colourful past and an inspirational message to share.

We take a look through his unique eyes, the swirling hues and checkered pasts to discover the deeper message behind the paint. His difficult journey pours through the splattered pots and bounces off the bristles into the veins of the building.

We meet the many inspirational people at the heart and soul of the mixing pot that is Seagulls, an organisation that has given a vital lifeline to so many and proves that with opportunity and inclusion, hard-work, determination and most importantly creativity, compassion and kindness, you can achieve great things.
